Radda sponsors 140 Katsina youth to study medicine in Cairo, India

The Katsina state government is sponsoring 140 youth to study medicine and related courses in Cairo, Egypt and India.

The state Head of Service, Alhaji Usman Isiyaku, who disclosed, Monday, said the administration of Governor Dikko Umar Radda is poised to address the health and educational challenges of the state.

He disclosed this during the award presentation organised by Dutsin ma Development Forum at Isa Kaita College of Education, Dutsin ma.

According to him, 40 of the youth will be fully sponsored to study medicine in Cairo with 90 of them heading to Indian to study various areas of health.

 Isiyaku, who represented the governor, said the youth were selected from across the 34 local government areas of the state.

The Head of Service stated that over N30 billion was allocated to the health in 2024 budget in the effort to reform the sector.

Chairman of the forum, Dr Sabiu Liadi, said the group is working hand in hand with all the stakeholders in assisting the community in the health and educational sectors.

Twenty persons were given award of excellence for their efforts to improve Dutsin ma community in all areas of endeavour.
